How do I participate in the 2012 Smart Points program?
For every $20 of Procter & Gamble products you purchase at Hy-Vee from September 1, 2012 through November 30, 2012 you earn 100 SMART Points to donate to the school of your choice. Find the promotional codes printed on your receipt of purchase. Please note you have to be 18 years of age to donate points.

What if a receipt did not print out at register?
If you did not receive a print out at the register that contains your Smart Points code(s), please send a photocopy of your store purchase receipt to info@hy-veesmartpoints.com. Once your purchase has been verified you will be provided with the designated code(s).
How do I donate my points?
To donate your points, visit www.hy-veesmartpoints.com where you will create a user name and password. Once a profile page is created and completed, you can then donate your points by viewing the donation page of the website. Here you will find a drop down menu that contains all schools participating in the 2012 program. Locate your school by state, then city, then school name. You will then enter in each code listed on your receipt in the designated field and submit.
What if my code does not work or is rejected?
Please try to enter your code again. If you find it still does not work please email info@hy-veesmartpoints.com with your issue as well as a photocopy of your receipt. Once your purchase is verified a representative will contact you and provide you with a new code.
What if my school is not listed?
If the school that you wish to donate to is not listed, please contact the school's principal and ask them to fill out the Add A School form on www.hy-veesmartpoints.com. Only submissions made directly from the school principal will be accepted. Once submitted, the school information and principal e-mail address will be verified. Upon verification, please allow one week for your school to be added into the system.
We appreciate your interest in our promotion and in our products. However, we are not able at this time to make this program available to home schools. We go to great efforts to ensure that all schools that participate are able to effectively compete regardless of their size. Smaller schools have a weighted score for their points based on the number of students enrolled. Unfortunately, this calculation would not be fair to apply to a school with only a few children in it--because it would give the home school an overwhelming advantage. We hope you will understand that we have had to make this decision based on fairness to the majority of potential participants.
How do I see my school's ranking and/or total points?
Please view the "Leaders" page on the website. Here you can use the drop down menu to search for your school's name. Search by state, then city then school name. Once entered, a list of schools will populate and your school's total will be listed next to the school name.
How are points totaled?
Points that have been allocated by an Entrant to the school of their choice will be divided by the number of students enrolled in that particular school. By doing so, this provides us with an average point total for that school. This method allows schools with smaller student enrollment numbers to compete fairly against a school with a larger student enrollment number.
Why is my school listed with other schools that are not in the same town?
Each school participating in the 2012 Smart Points program is assigned to a designated Hy-Vee store. The store associated with a particular school is not necessarily based on a town by town basis, but rather a pre-determined radius around each Hy-Vee store. Therefore, in some instances there will be schools competing against other schools that may not be located in the same towns. Please refer to the leader board to determine which schools your school is competing against.
How do I know if my school has won the SMART Board?
Please view the "Leaders" page for your school's points total throughout the promotion. Once the program is closed on November 30, 2012, a representative will total all point donations. Once a winner for each Hy-Vee location is determined, a Hy-Vee representative will contact the school's principal and arrange for the delivery of the SMART Board. Please allow 2 weeks from the program end date for all winners to be determined.
How do I know if I am the winner of the iPad 2 tablet?
Once the program is closed on November 30, 2012, a representative will total all point donations. Once a winner for each school is determined a Hy-Vee representative will contact the person who has donated the most points toward the winning schools total. The winner will then determine/list the name of the child at the winning school who they wish the iPad 2 tablet to be presented or delivered to. Please allow 4 weeks from the program end date for all winners to be determined.
What will I need to provide if I am a winner?
- All winners will be contacted by a Hy-Vee representative who will then provide them with the proper paperwork.
- All winning schools will be asked to fill out an acknowledgment of eligibility form which states that your school accepts the prize of the SMART Board. They will also need to provide a W-9 form only if the school is NOT tax exempt.
- All iPad 2 tablet winners will be asked to fill out an acknowledgement of eligibility form which states that you accept the prize of the iPad 2 tablet on behalf of the child you will be donating the iPad 2 tablet to.
